As September approaches, we are gearing up for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. This year, we want to shine a bright light on a heavy topic in the most joyful, eye-catching way possible.
We are thrilled to officially launch The Wacky Wardrobe Challenge, a special campaign proudly brought to you by CANSA TLC.
What is the Wacky Wardrobe Challenge?
Childhood cancer is often a difficult topic to discuss. To break the silence and spark conversations, we are turning to the power of playfulness.
We are calling on you—our incredible community—to raid your closets and assemble the most chaotic, mismatched, multi-layered, and wonderfully wild outfits you can possibly dream up.
The bolder and more creative your outfit, the more it helps draw attention to childhood cancer awareness in a joyful and meaningful way.
How to Get Involved
Dress Up:
Mix polka dots with stripes, wear shoes that don't match, or layer three coats.
Snap a Photo:
Capture your glorious fashion creation in a picture or short video.
Share Online:

Why Your Creative Wardrobe Matters
By wearing your wackiest wardrobe pieces, you become a walking conversation starter.
Every creative outfit worn, every laugh shared and every photo posted helps makes it easier to talk about the difficult reality of childhood cancer, the warning signs and the support available through CANSA TLC.
Your participation directly funds critical TLC services, family support systems, and life-saving advocacy programmes.
How CANSA Helps
At CANSA TLC, we believe no child, teen, young adult, or family should have to face cancer on their own.
Our staff help children, teens, and young adults with cancer, alongside their loved ones, cope with diagnosis and treatment.
We provide holistic support at CANSA TLC Facilities, oncology wards, online, and through our dedicated CANSA Free2Bme Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA) site (specifically tailored for ages 13-24 years old).
We also support youth whose parents are diagnosed, as well as the siblings of young cancer patients.
Beyond support, we educate communities about the early warning signs of childhood and youth cancers to enable early detection and timeous treatment.
CANSA TLC Facilities & Support Across SA
We currently operate three CANSA TLC Lodges, dedicated AYA (Adolescent / Young Adult) rooms and give support in various hospital wards to ensure patients and families have the practical and emotional support they need during treatment.

Your donations enable free services, for example, CANSA Tele and Virtual counselling in most SA languages by trained counsellors, support groups (face-to-face; WhatsApp and FBK); guidance from our Clinical Nurses regarding coping with the side effects of cancer,
cancer treatment, dietary tips, stoma care and pain management – enquire at info@cansa.org.za; our Advocacy department assists patients experiencing stock shortages, delays in screening and cancer treatment, and lack of access to appropriate pain management medications; transport to and from cancer treatment centres is provided to our cancer patients staying at CANSA Care Homes, who would otherwise live too far away to receive treatment. Children and teens with cancer and their parents / guardians stay at our CANSA TLC Lodges for free during treatment. Our two TLC wig banks for children / teens provide free wigs to those in need.
