Corporate Wellness week takes place in the first week of July.

It is a time for employers to reflect on what would make a more productive workforce – the answer, would of course be a healthier workforce.

When employers step up to show employees that they care about their health, employees gain trust in them and are motivated to work hard.

Employees are grateful for the opportunity to have screening come to them at work, because work and life are demanding, leaving little time for self-care.

Employers can invite CANSA to their workplace to offer cancer screening for breast, cervical, skin, and prostate cancer. Nurses will also educate about breast, skin, and testicular self-examinations. 

Informative exhibitions and talks regarding the top cancers affecting men and women in SA can also be arranged, to ensure you are aware of symptoms which help detect cancer early, when it is most easily treatable.

The frequency of screening throughout the year is based on each company’s needs. CANSA can run it as a one-day initiative, extend it over several days, or repeat it multiple times a year—depending on the organisation’s needs.

Your donations enable free services, for example, CANSA Tele and Virtual counselling in most SA languages by trained counsellors, support groups (face-to-face; WhatsApp and FBK); guidance from our Clinical Nurses regarding coping with the side effects of cancer, cancer treatment, dietary tips, stoma care and pain management – enquire at info@cansa.org.za; our Advocacy department assists patients experiencing stock shortages, delays in screening and cancer treatment, and lack of access to appropriate pain management medications; transport to and from cancer treatment centres is provided to our cancer patients staying at CANSA Care Homes, who would otherwise live too far away to receive treatment. Children and teens with cancer and their parents / guardians stay at our CANSA TLC Lodges for free during treatment. Our two TLC wig banks for children / teens provide free wigs to those in need.
